Obituary

McADOO (Special) — Services for Barney Lee Watts, 58, of 502 45th St. in Lubbock, will be at 3 p.m. today in McAdoo Church of Christ with Jerry Jones, minister for First Christian Church of Burkburnett, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Wayne Holder and the Rev. Charles Pharis, both of Lubbock. Burial will be in McAdoo Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home of Spur.

Watts died at 2 a.m. Tuesday in Lubbock's Methodist Hospital after a long illness.

He was a Gainesville native and came to Dickens County in 1935, where he lived 18 years. He had been a Lubbock resident since 1953 and was employed as an electrician.

He married the former Dolly Robena Stephenson on June 25, 1945, in Spur. He was a member of First Christian Church of Lubbock, the VFW and served in the Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, a son, Charles of Lubbock; three daughters, Mrs. Ray Whitworth of Houston, Mrs. Rex Parks of San Antonio and Mrs. Jack Wilhite of Gonzales; four brothers, Jearl of Spur, A.B. of Palestine, A.T. of Farwell and Loyd of Plainview; a foster sister, Mrs. Leroy Boyd of Lubbock; and seven grandchildren.
