U.S. VeteranWilliam Penn Yarbrough 85 of Boulder City, NV passed away December 10, 2012 in Las Vegas, NV. Known as Penn to family and Bill to friends, he was born May 2, 1927 in Brownwood, TX to William Jenkins and Lottie Louise (Angelo) Yarbrough. He was preceded in death by his parents, nephew Carl Jenkins Gregory, niece Minnie Louise Gregory, sister Annie Lorene Gregory, brother Walter Jerome Yarbrough, former wife Patricia Ross Hull Yarbrough Livermore, step-son Francis (Frank) Leland Hull Jr., son-in-law(s) Trent Saylor and Jeroen Voorkamp, special cousin and friend Royce Wayne Yarbrough and longtime friend Floyd J. Berg and so many others.


The Yarbrough family moved to San Diego, Ca in the early 1940’s. Penn graduated from La Jolla High School at the age of 15, he enlisted in the US Navy at 16. Upon his discharge from the Navy, he then enlisted in the US Air Force. He was a veteran of WWII, the Korean War and Vietnam. He retired from the military after completing 3 tours of duty in Vietnam.


He is survived by daughter Lynn Yarbrough, granddaughters Angelique (Jeffrey) Hill, Cheyenne Yarbrough and great grandson Brandon Reynoso all of Boulder City, NV. Step-son Patrick (Judith) Hull, step-daughters Merrileen (Edward) Simpson, Randy Harris, Virginia Voorkamp and Lisa Greiss. He was also known as Grandpa Penn to Brandi Hamilton, David Hull, Paul and Edward Simpson, Larisa and Kristi Hull , Roy Seppanen II, Anne and Jesse Voorkamp, Ranae Harris and Victoria Greiss. Other survivors are numerous cousins and friends located throughout California.
