I was born December 25, 1933 in Dickens County. I am the son of Ray and Bessie Fuqua Stoneman. Bessie is the daughter of Ed and Edna Cross Fuqua. Ray is the son of Charlie and Molley Stoneman. They all came here about the turn of the century.

When I was 9 years old my mother was burned to death in our home at Peaceful Hill. Nine months later I got my leg burned. I spent ten years in and out of the hospital for skin grafts. My grandparents raised my five brothers and me. In 1961 my baby brother Delvan was killed in a car accident.

July 17, 1960 I started working at the A&M Experiment Station. I have now been there 25 years.

In 1963 I met Janell Bradford. She is the daughter of Juanita Bradford and the late Ira Bradford. She was born December 6, 1936 in Dickens County. We were married July 19, 1963. She had two children by a former marriage, Royce and Saundra. February 20, 1964, we had a son Kenneth, Jr.

They all attended Spur High School. Kenneth, Jr. graduated in 1983.

September 19, 1974 Royce married Darla Collett of Dallas. They have 3 boys, Shannon 8, Eric 5, and Kevin 14 months.

July 19, 1975 Saundra married Larry Williams of Jayton. They have 3 girls, Angela 7, Christy 5, Carrie Raynell 1 year. They still live in Jayton.

We are members of the Baptist Church. Kenneth, Jr. still lives at home with us.
