Patty Talks

We were blessed to have Carolyn with us for so many memorable years.   She was a wonderful friend,
a vibrant, enthusiastic woman, and an inspiration to all of us. Over the last 40+ years we have met every
few months to share our joys and concerns, to offer words of encouragement and... to get in some good
shopping. It was Carolyn who did research to find art exhibits for us to visit and who organized parties, trips
and other adventures. Together, we celebrated marriages and births, commiserated over losses and joked
about our lives. We knew that Carolyn would have news to share about Branwyne and Alan, about the
comings and goings of her family and of a wonderfully exciting trip that she was planning with Alan.  After
her return from each vacation, she shared beautiful photo albums with us that recently included glimpses
of her newly-discovered artistic talent with colored pencils. We delighted in seeing Carolyn  arrive in her
signature stylish teal clothes and matching accessories, armed with great reading suggestions. We also
got to know the ups and downs of her tireless efforts to build this magnificent library.
Our shared high school and college years with Carolyn are filled with special memories. There was much
laughter and fun at slumber parties, trips to Farrell's ice cream parlor, and at those Christmas Eve gatherings
at the Crain house.
Let's not forget rooting on Granada's team at basketball games and our international
club activities at CSUN
.
Although we saw Carolyn regularly, she had a wider circle of friends than just us. She maintained friendships
with other high school friends and acquired new friendships throughout her adult life. In spite of her busy
schedule, Carolyn found time to acknowledge each of our milestones through beautiful notes and cards.
Carolyn was our center, she was our grounding point. We will miss her wonderful friendship.
