Dion Miller and I first met in 1972. I was an all expense paid volunteer for the George McGovern presidential campaign. Any Green, wife of Professor Green, was the campaign coordinator for our area and I was going to New Mexico for the weekend to work with the McGovern campaign, and Andy ask me to stop and pick up Dion on the way--he would be standing by the highway in Dawn, Texas. I picked him up and that is how we met for the first time. Now 51 years later as I write this we are still in contact with each other and the best of friends, though we live in two different states.
