According to my mother, Uncle Potts received his nickname, "Potts", because as a small child he was always found playing with the pots and pans. To his brothers and sisters and nieces and nephews he was Potts or Uncle Potts. To his friends and co-workers he was knows a Bill. Uncle Potts spent his life career in the oil well business as a driller and later as superintendent.
