Printed Loose Probate Records-
While researching in the Woodruff County Courthouse I discovered these few printed comments.  It verifies the guardianship of Walter to his brother, Victor.

Also, this record provides the death date of Nathan Stephenson, brother to Samuel Charles Stephenson.

And also, the death of Elisha Vick who was a 2nd cousin, once removed to my grandfather, Samuel Walter Stephenson.  Elisha Vick was about 35 years old at the time of his death in Arkansas, but his wife Fanny, was listed as an heir "if living" in North Carolina.  This makes me wonder how long he had been in Arkansas.   Family oral history indicates that Samuel Charles Stephenson, Benjamin Stephenson, Nathan Stephenson, and Thomas Stephenson had left North Carolina after the Civil War with as many as 10 cousins and friends.  However, in 1870 Elisha Vick was still in North Carolina, as verified by the 1870 census, but he could have arrived any time after that unit his death in 1878.
