1937 -- 2017
Coy Oliver Stephenson, 79, of Hemet, passed away Sunday Feburary19, 2017. On September 14, 1937 in Red Mud, Texas, he was the second son of Samuel Jenkins and Evelyn Ruth Parker Stephenson. Having only had an 8 th grade education, he worked on a family farm until he was old enough to work in construction and then in the city of Lubbock he was a driver of a grader. Then in construction, he worked with his brother and then finally as a truck driver for Interpace which would change names several times, Material Transport, (Lana Macdon Sun Products).
In the year of 2000, he retired after 33 years with the company. He was a long time member of the Church of Christ worshiping with the Central Church of Christ in Corona. In the last few years, he was with the Central Church of Christ in Hemet.
On the 20th day of July in the year of 1959, Coy married Roszella Wyatt Mayo and they would enjoy life together for 57 years. Coy is survived by his wife Roszella, their children, Robert Stephenson of Topeka Kansas and his wife, Cynthia, a daughter, Sintha Steward of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Becky Thompson of Hemet, California and her husband Gary.
He is also survived with 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and is survived by one sibling, his brother Samuel Don Stephenson. Coy is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Jenkins and Evelyn Ruth Stephenson, a brother, Robert Lenoy Stephenson and then a sister, Sharon Gale Baldwin.
