"Uncle Jim" as we called him was my grandmother's brother. I had heard that he served in World War I in France but nothing more. Looking at his gravesite I noticed he had a military plaque and began some investigation. I located his unit in France. The link is below. He was in the Texan National Guard and it was called into service.
