Robert Clad Rich "Bob" (Flora Syrilda Bradford, Ellen Alvaretta Newcomb, Catherine Cerilda McCarty, Thomas J. McCarty) was born on 12 May 1928 in Afton, Dickens County, Texas. Bob married (1) Alberta Lynn Dunwoody on March 3, 1947 in Spur, Dickens County, Texas. The marriage ended in divorce. Alberta was born in Spur, Dickens County, Texas. Bob also married (2) Doris Marie Beasley, daughter of Elbert B. Beasley and Nova Novella Morton, on 3 Dec 1950 in Carlsbad, Eddy County, New Mexico. The marriage ended in divorce. Robert, "R.C.", "Bob", was named after his grandfathers, Robert Rich and Clad Bradford. His mother started calling him R.C. when he was very young because she didn't want him called "Bob." He has been called "Bob" by some friends and family.

R.C. is 5 feet, 10 inches tall. He has brown hair, hazel eyes and a fair complexion. He grew up on a farm in Dickens County and graduated from Patton Springs High School. He served in the Army from 1950 to 1952. His employment has included the potash mines in CarlsbAd, New Mexico. He left the heavy-highway construction industry in 1975 and went to work for Mine Safety and Health Agency. He retired from the Mine Safety and Healthl in June of 1990. He continues to work part-time as a scale technician. His hobbies include sliversmithing, upholstering and computer assembly.

He was baptized in 1973 at the First Babpist Church in Grants, New Mexico. He enjoys church work, fishing, travel and the grandchildren. R.C. lives in Mesa, Arizona.

It was mid morning on a sunny day about 1940. My brother and I were playing in the front yard and noticed somseone walking up the road. We knew they were coming toour house because the road only led to our house. We ran in the house to tell Mama that someone was coming up the road. She came out to see, and by that time they were close enought for her to seee who it was. "It's R.C.", she said, and all of a sudden she began to scream and yell, running around the yard in a frenzy. "He's hurt", she yelled, "He has blood all over him." She kept on screaming, and my brother and I ran to meet him. When we got to the gate that he was coming through we saw that it was paint and not blood. He had been to a scout meting and was painted like an Indian warrior. We never mentioned Mama's reactions to what she thought she saw.
